These notices describe how Rekha handles documents, account information, and AI-assisted features. They are written to explain the service plainly; mandatory rights under applicable law still apply.
01 / Terms
Terms of Service
By installing, accessing, or using Rekha, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. If you use Rekha for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it.
What Rekha provides
Rekha provides PDF reading, organisation, scanning, OCR, editing, export, and optional AI-assisted features. Features, limits, supported formats, and release channels may change as the App is maintained. Some features require a Google account and an internet connection.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use Rekha only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. Keep your sign-in account secure and tell us promptly if you believe it has been misused.
Your documents and instructions
You keep the rights you already have in your PDFs, images, text, prompts, and other material. You give Rekha only the limited permission needed to receive and process material for a feature you request. You must have the rights and authority needed to upload or process it. Keep your own backup; local files and exported files can be lost through device failure, deletion, or an update.
Acceptable use
You must not use Rekha to break the law, infringe another person’s rights, distribute malware, abuse or harass others, process material without permission, evade quotas or security controls, reverse-engineer or tamper with the App, or overload the service. Do not submit passwords, private keys, payment-card data, or government identifiers unless you have a clear lawful reason and understand the processing involved.
Third-party services and releases
Rekha relies on services such as Google Sign-In, Firebase, Google Gemini, Cloudflare, and GitHub. Those services have their own terms and privacy notices. Android builds downloaded outside an official app store require your approval and may show security warnings. Use only the official release links, check the published checksum, and do not install modified copies.
Ownership and permissions
Rekha branding, product materials, and software are protected by applicable law and remain owned by their respective rights holders. These Terms do not transfer ownership or grant a licence beyond using the App as intended. Third-party components remain subject to their own licences.
Availability and disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Rekha is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise that the App, AI service, release links, or third-party services will always be available, secure, accurate, or error-free. We may pause, limit, change, or discontinue a feature when needed for maintenance, safety, security, legal compliance, or operational reasons.
Liability and mandatory rights
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or loss-of-data damages arising from use of the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer, privacy, or other statutory rights. This paragraph is not intended to remove any remedy that the law gives you.
Suspension and changes
We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or third parties, or to comply with law. We may update these Terms when the App or applicable requirements change. We will show the new date and, where appropriate, highlight material changes.
02 / Privacy
Privacy Policy
This Policy explains what Rekha may process, why it is processed, and the choices available to you. The exact data flow depends on the features you choose.
Privacy contact
Rekha is maintained by Biswas Sekhar. For privacy questions, data requests, or a grievance, contact rekha.app.support@gmail.com. We will verify requests before changing or deleting account information.
Information we process
- Account and sign-in: Google/Firebase may provide your name, email address, profile image, provider ID, and account ID to authenticate you and maintain your Rekha account.
- Usage and service records: feature counters, entitlement or plan status, rate-limit records, app version, platform, and operational timestamps.
- AI request metadata: operation, model, token counts, request size, latency, output size, status, and error information. The audit record is designed not to store document text or answers.
- Documents and AI requests: PDFs and exports are normally handled on your device. If you choose AI, the selected text, page images, selected PDF pages, or question needed for that feature is sent through authenticated Firebase Functions to Google Gemini.
- Device, crash, and notification data: app version, operating-system details, crash diagnostics, and a Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token when notifications are enabled after sign-in.
- Support messages: the information you choose to send when you contact support.
Purposes and legal grounds
Depending on the situation and applicable law, we process information to provide a requested feature, authenticate your account, enforce quotas and security, send an update you enabled, diagnose crashes, respond to support or deletion requests, comply with legal obligations, and protect the service and its users. Where consent is the appropriate basis, you can withdraw it by stopping the relevant optional feature or contacting us.
Providers and sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may use service providers for authentication, hosting, cloud functions, databases, crash diagnostics, push notifications, AI processing, and release hosting, including Google Firebase, Google Gemini, Google Sign-In, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Cloudflare, and GitHub. Providers process data under their own terms and privacy notices. We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Retention and deletion
Local documents, exports, and chat history remain under your device controls unless you choose to send material to an online feature. Account, entitlement, usage, security, and support records are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for their purpose, legal obligations, dispute handling, and security. Some AI audit and notification records are configured to expire after approximately 90 days, while account or quota records may need to remain longer. Email rekha.app.support@gmail.com to request account deletion or access; legal, security, and backup requirements may affect timing and scope.
Your choices and rights
Where applicable, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data; raise a grievance; withdraw optional consent; and exercise other rights provided by the law that applies to you. You can clear local chat history and files from the App or your device. Contact us if you need help or cannot use an in-App control.
Children and guardians
Rekha is not designed to solicit personal data from children. If a person is under the age of majority where they live, they should use the App only with a parent or legal guardian. Where applicable law requires verifiable parental consent or additional safeguards for a child, we will apply those requirements. If you believe a child provided information without the required permission, contact us so we can review it.
Security and international processing
We use access controls, authenticated requests, server-side secrets, and other reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the service. No device, network, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Our providers may process information in countries other than where you live; applicable safeguards depend on the provider and the transfer involved.
03 / AI boundary
AI and document notice
AI can help you find a starting point, but it does not know whether a result is correct for your situation. Review the cited pages and the original document before acting. Do not use Rekha as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial, tax, employment, safety, or other high-impact decisions.
When text extraction or OCR is not reliable, Rekha may send only the selected page window or a selected-page PDF needed for the question. The App should tell you which pages are included. You remain responsible for checking that the selected material is appropriate to send and that you have permission to process it.
04 / Requests
Contact and requests
For support, privacy requests, deletion requests, or grievances, email rekha.app.support@gmail.com. Include the account email, the feature involved, and enough detail for us to investigate. Do not include passwords, private keys, or unnecessary document contents.
These notices are product disclosures, not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer. Applicable law and non-waivable consumer rights take priority where they conflict with a general statement here.
